Healthcare Administration
Prepare to assume a leadership role in the healthcare industry.
Healthcare Administration major and minor
Healthcare administrators make large-scale decisions for a healthcare facility or institution and are key to meeting the public’s health and medical needs.
Healthcare administrators work behind the scenes to coordinate the duties of nurses, doctors, and other medical staff through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling health facilities and programs. They are often responsible for making critical staffing, budgetary, policy, resource, and service decisions to assure quality patient care.
They work in various health settings, including hospitals, hospital systems, managed care organizations, retirement and long-term care facilities, outpatient clinics, public health facilities, community service agencies, consulting firms, corporate wellness programs, federal/state/local governments, international health organizations, health care associations, medical equipment manufacturers, the pharmaceutical industry, medical practice management solutions firms, etc.
