Pre-Medicine
Pre-medical and pre-dental students can best prepare for medical school by completing either a biology major or a biochemistry major. Students interested in pre-medicine should contact specific graduate schools for general information and admission requirements.
Working with your academic advisor is very important when considering a pre-med program. Faculty from across campus will assist in your planning by identifying required and recommended coursework and sponsoring undergraduate research and internships.
Once on this path, you will earn a Bachelor’s degree with a major or double major in biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, health and exercise science, or healthcare administration before moving on to medical school.
Recent Simpson grads have pursued medical degrees or MD/PhD’s at the University of Iowa, Des Moines University, AT Still University, Creighton, Georgetown, Northwestern, University of Missouri-Columbia, and University of Missouri-Kansas City, among others.
