At Simpson, you will have opportunities to study away from campus. Take a quick trip to Des Moines to see the Pappajohn Sculpture Park, travel to a renown museum in New York City or discover a completely new culture with a trip to Italy.
The Art Department sponsors several smaller-scale field trips to areas around the state and the region. The Midwest has some hidden (and not so hidden) artistic gems and trips have included Des Moines, Minneapolis, Kansas City and Chicago.
If you wish your study abroad experience could last a bit longer than a field trip or three weeks in May Term, Simpson can offer you the opportunity to spend a semester abroad studying art at Studio Art Centers International (SACI) in Florence, Italy. A tuition exchange arrangement with the school allows you to study with internationally known professors of art and choose from a wide range of studio and art history classes.
