Matthew Simpson Society
A gift made once, an impact felt forever
In 1937, the family of Bishop Matthew Simpson – namesake of the College – made a transformative gift to Simpson’s permanent endowment. Valued at $300,000 at that time, their bequest has supported student scholarships and academic programs every year since, leaving a legacy that continues to change lives.
Today, the Matthew Simpson Society honors those who choose to create a similar impact through estate gifts to Simpson College. Whether through a will, trust, annuity, retirement plan, or life insurance policy, these planned gifts reflect a deep and lasting belief in Simpson’s mission.
Membership is extended to anyone who has made provisions for Simpson through an annuity, trust, life insurance policy, retirement plan, or bequest in their will. To become a member, simply let us know that your estate plans include a gift to Simpson. To learn more about planned giving, visit our planned giving page or set up a conversation with someone in College Advancement by calling 515-961-1549.
Matthew Simpson Society members receive a token of appreciation, a certificate of membership, and invitations to special events. Most importantly, they become part of a lasting tradition of generosity – one that continues to shape the future of Simpson College for generations to come. We warmly encourage members to stay connected and engaged with the life of the College, knowing their legacy is already making a difference.
