Election Resources for Students

Students living in campus housing will vote at either the Indianola County Club or the American Legion Hall, depending on which precinct they live in:

• Precincts #2 and #3: Indianola Country Club, 1610 Country Club Road – for ALL campus residence halls EXCEPT Clinton Apartments and Hamilton House.
• Precinct #6: American Legion Hall, 105 West 1st Ave. – ONLY for Clinton Apartments and Hamilton House.

Faculty and staff who reside in Warren County and wish to vote in the August 29 special election should consult the Iowa Secretary of State’s website lookup tool to find their precinct number. Polling places for special elections are not updated on the Secretary of State’s website, so please refer to this list of special election polling places published on the Warren County Auditor’s website.

All students who wish to vote in this special election must obtain a printed lease agreement from Student Development to prove residency and register to vote at their polling place on August 29. Lease agreements can be obtained from the Student Development front desk, 2nd Floor of Kent Campus Center, from 8:00am to 4:30pm on August 28 and 29. If you plan to vote and need your printed lease agreement, please send an email to studevworkstudy@simpson.edu with your student ID number so that Student Development staff can print your lease agreement and have it ready for you to pick up on August 28 or 29.

All voters must also show a current, valid photo ID with expiration date in order to register and vote on special election day. Valid forms of photo ID to prove identity include a driver’s license issued by any state or territory, U.S. passport, tribal ID, and military ID. Simpson ID cards are not accepted as proof of identity under Iowa law. Voters who are already registered at their current residential address must show a valid Iowa driver’s license, Iowa non-operator ID card, or voter ID card in order to cast a ballot.
