Eduardo Magalhaes provides coverage of every region of the world except sub-Saharan Africa, as well as courses in world politics for Political Science Majors at Simpson.

Biography

Eduardo Magalhães III serves as the advisor to the Midwest Model UN team, as a coach for the National Champion Speech and Debate team, and frequently assists students with independent studies. He has also done research to explain why Iowa was the 49th state to elect a woman to the House, Senate or Governor‚ office and is currently working on a Reacting to the Past game set in the Brazilian Constituent Assembly of 1987.

Professionally, Eduardo Magalhaes is a member of the North Central Council of Latin Americanists, coordinating and moderating their annual Teaching and Learning Workshop. Eduardo has also graded AP Comparative Government and Politics exams since 2001 and served as the Chief Reader of the AP Comparative Government and Politics exam from 2020 to 2024.
