Matthew Garrett

Biography

Dr. Garrett started at Simpson in the fall of 2023. He had previously served in the same role at Loras College where his students won a record 12 national championships in academic case study tournaments. He was a head or assistant coach on four different NCAA Division III women’s basketball and softball national tournament staffs in the 1990s. He has presented and published on multiple topics, with college athlete recruitment a common theme. Dr. Garrett is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and he and his wife Cheryl live in Indianola and have three kids, Joseph (’23), Michael, and Rachel.
