Biography

As the Career Advisor at Simpson College, I am dedicated to guiding students through their career development journey. With my extensive experience in career and academic advising, I help Simpson students discover their interests, values, personality, and strengths while creating personalized career development plans. Focusing on vocational discernment, instead of answering “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I challenge my students to reflect and answer, “What kind of life do you want to lead?”

As a Certified Gallup CliftonStrengths Coach, I offer individualized coaching sessions to help Simpson students learn about what they are naturally good at and develop them into strengths during their collegiate career. I also provide support for students (and alums!) in career and major exploration, resume and cover letter writing, internship and job search strategies, social media and LinkedIn reviews, and interview preparation.

I reside in West Des Moines with my husband and my golden retriever, Ellie. In my free time, you can find me learning Adobe skills, drawing, learning new recipes, reading the next recommended book by colleagues, and of course, spending time with my family.
