Biography

After completing a postdoctoral position at Northwestern University, in 2017 Ross Sweet came back to his hometown of Des Moines to join Simpson College as an assistant professor. Ross works closely with students, faculty, and staff to help students achieve their educational and professional goals in math and actuarial science.

Ross is a member of the MAA, an MAA Iowa-NExT fellow, and a PIC Math Fellow. He is active in math education workshops and conferences, including the Academy of Inquiry Based Learning and the Chicago Symposium Series for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and Science.
