Gender-Inclusive Housing
Housing that supports inclusion, respect, and belonging.
Simpson College is committed to providing welcoming and inclusive housing options for all students. Gender-Inclusive Housing (GIH) allows two or more students to share a room, suite, or apartment regardless of sex, gender, or gender identity/expression.
This housing option supports the College’s commitment to equity and inclusion by providing flexibility for students who identify as transgender, are more comfortable living with another sex or gender, or prefer housing arrangements that do not rely on traditional gender classifications. Students are not required to disclose a reason for requesting Gender-Inclusive Housing.
Gender-Inclusive Housing is intended to support student comfort and inclusion and is not designed for students in romantic relationships.
