Editing the Internal Website

To gain access to the internal pages you are responsible for editing, contact the Office of Marketing & Strategic Communication at x1606.

Log-in Information

  • https://simpson.edu/user/login
  • Add your user name and password to gain access

To Recover/Change Your Password

  • Navigate to https://simpson.edu/user/login and click "Reset your password"
  • Provide you email address and click "submit"
  • Follow the instructions sent to you in the reset email

To Edit an Existing Page

  • Go to the page you want to edit
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Edit"
  • Make the changes you wish to make
  • When done, click "Save" at the bottom of the page

To Add an Email Link

  • Highlight the words that will hold the link
  • Click on the "link plus" icon in the Body navigation
  • In the "Link" box, type mailto:john.doe@simpson.edu (no spaces)
  • Click "Save"

To Create a New Internal Page

  • Hover over "Content" in the main edit navigation
  • Hover over "Add content"
  • Click "Internal page"
  • Add title and content
  • When done, click "Menu Settings" on the right side of the page and check the "Provide a menu link" box
  • Go to "Parent item" and click on the down arrow to find where the page should live and highlight it
  • Go to the bottom of the page and check the "Published" box
  • Click "Save"

To Add a Document

  • Navigate to the page where you would like to add a link to a document (pdf, xlsx, word, etc.) and edit the page
  • Scroll to the bottom to find "File Upload"
  • Click "Choose Files" and upload your document
  • Once uploaded, right click to copy the url
  • Add a description of the file in the "Description" box directly below
  • Find the location where  you would like to link to the document, click on the "link plus" icon in the Body navigation and paste the copied link into the box

 

Add/upload an Image

  • Navigate to the page where you would like to add an image and click "edit"
  • In the "Body" section, place your cursor where you'd like to embed the image
  • Click the "embed" icon on the tool bar, then click "Select Files"
    • Upload a new image by clicking the "Select Files" button and follow the instructions. Remember, the photo should not exceed 400 pixels in width.
    • OR, you can use an already uploaded image by clicking "Existing Files" and selecting a photo
  • Once you've chosen the photo, click the "Use Selected" button, then on the following screen, click "Next"
  • In the "Display As" field, select "image then set the preferred size in the "Image Style" field
  • Type in a brief but accurate description of the photo in the "Alternative Text" field, then add a title in the "Title" field
  • Select the alignment of the photo then scroll to the bottom and click "Embed"
  • Finally, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit "Save"
  • To edit an embedded image, in edit mode, double click on the image, make any updates, click "embed" when finished, then click "Save"
