Apartments and Halls
Unique housing options for upper-division students
If you are a sophomore, junior or senior, you can choose from a variety of living accommodations that include residence halls, theme houses, Greek houses and apartments. Like all of the housing offered by Simpson, each living environment features vital safety measures and timely access to assistance, as follows:
- Card access for building entry
- Room combinations, not keys
- Community Advisors on duty every night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Buxton Hall
Buxton Hall is an alcohol-free building that provides co-educational, suite-style housing for 134 upper-division students. Conveniently located at 606 North E St., Buxton is adjacent to Blank-Pote Theatre and Picken Hall, near Carse Fitness Center and the Kent Campus Center. Accommodations feature large, four-person rooms that share a bathroom with adjoining same-sex suites. Sleeping areas are separate from the main living spaces.

- Computer room on the first floor.

Picken Hall
Picken Hall is also an alcohol-free building that offers co-educational facility housing for 94 upper-division students. Most rooms are set up as two-person suite-style rooms that share a bathroom with the room next door. Four rooms on the lower level are double rooms with a community bath.

- Lower level TV lounge
- Typical Picken room size: 11’2″ x 15′
- Typical Picken walkable room size: 11’2″ x 12’4″
Located at 605 North D St., Picken is adjacent to Carse Fitness Center and Blank-Pote Theatre, and near Kent Campus Center.

Apartments
Simpson College owns seven nearby apartment buildings: Clinton, Colonial, Detroit, Hamilton, Station Square, Washington, and Weinman. The apartments are primarily designated for students in their junior or senior years. Occasionally a sophomore may be able to get into an apartment through the housing lottery process.
All apartments offer standard amenities that include:

CLINTON
The Clinton Apartments are located at 701 West Clinton — one block west of the Hamilton apartments and across from Irving Elementary. Each side of the apartment building has 18 apartments that house two to four upper-division students in one and two-bedroom units.
Clinton amenities include:
- New carpet, windows, paint, updated bathrooms and appliances
- Dishwasher
- Balconies on 2nd and 3rd floor apartments

COLONIAL
The Colonial Apartments are located at 504 North Buxton Street — directly across from the Amy Robertson Music Center and next door to Washington Apartments. This building houses two to four upper division students per apartment in 14 one- and two-bedroom units. Each apartment has one bathroom.

WASHINGTON
The Washington Apartments are located at 500 North Buxton Street — directly across from the Amy Robertson Music Center and next door to Colonial Apartments. This building houses 2-4 upper division students per apartment in 12 one- and two-bedroom units. Each apartment has one bathroom.
Amenities include:
- Locked storage closet in the hallway
- Outdoor charcoal grill

STATION SQUARE
The Station Square Apartments are located at 100 East Detroit Ave. — directly across from the Simpson College Campus Services Office. This building has been designated as alcohol-free and 24-hour quiet hours are in effect during the academic year. It features 22 4-person apartments and one 2-person apartment. Each apartment has two bathrooms.

HAMILTON
The Hamilton House Apartments are located at 501 West Clinton — kiddy-corner from Bill Buxton Stadium and across from Irving Elementary. Named in honor of former Simpson College President William E. Hamilton, this building contains 12 four-person apartments. Each apartment has one bathroom.

- Most units have balconies (on 2nd and 3rd floor)
- Dishwashers
- Outdoor charcoal grill

WEINMAN
The Weinman Apartments are located at 501 North E Street, a short walk from campus next door to Detroit Street Apartments. Accommodations feature 11 four-person apartments and one two-person apartment. Each apartment has one bathroom.

DETROIT
The Detroit Street Apartments are located near campus at 608/700/702 Detroit Street. The apartments are comprised of three separate apartment buildings that make up the Detroit apartment community. Buildings 608, 700, 702 each contain 4 2-person apartments, which offer a unique single bedroom option. Each bedroom has a desk, chair, bed, and 2 dressers.
