Wherever you choose to live on campus, you’ll be part of an inclusive, welcoming community with the important amenities and support you need to feel safe and secure 24/7. Your living options include Kresge and Barker Halls. Both buildings offer free laundry use and peace of mind features:

    • Card access for building entry
    • Room combinations, not keys
    • Each floor has one to three Community Advisors on duty every night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    • Campus Security 24/7 (cell: 515-240-4434); (office: 515-961-1711)

Kresge Hall
Kresge is the the largest residence hall on campus. The building is co-ed, and is split into single-sex wings. Most of the housing features two-person rooms, while some triples and quads are also available. Each wing has a community bath and laundry facilities. The basement has kitchen and laundry facilities, a computer room, pool table and a lounge area. The building is conveniently located next to Pfeiffer Dining Hall and near Dunn Library.

Kresge features the following amenities:

  • 96 rooms (doubles, triples, and quads)
  • Individual room thermostat controls
  • Laundry facilities on every level
  • Lounge/study areas on the lower level, first and second floors
  • Substance-free living
  • Typical Kresge Room Size: 13’8″ x 10’9″

Barker Hall
Barker is a co-ed hall split into six single-sex wings, and is made up of doubles, triples and quads. Each wing has community bath facilities. Kitchen facilities are provided on the second floor and the lower level houses the laundry and lounge area. Barker is also located next to Pfeiffer Dining Hall and near Dunn Library.

Barker provides the following amenities:

  • 82 rooms (doubles, triples, and quads)
  • Individual room thermostat controls
  • Laundry facilities on lower level
  • Lounge/study area on lower level
  • Substance-free living
  • Typical Barker room size: 11′ x 12’3″
