After the Degree, Class of '23: Taryn Bertini
No matter where you’re headed after graduation, your Simpson community and classes will leave you ready to go anywhere. And recent Simpson grad Taryn Bertini ’23 can tell you all about it.
Bertini is putting her marketing communication degree to work at Kiewit, a construction and engineering company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. There, she works as a Communications Coordinator, exercising the diverse skills she learned in her Simpson courses. “In my role, I support the Real Estate department in any and all communication needs,” says Bertini. “My classes and professors equipped me with essential communication skills, real-life experience, and a solid understanding of media relations to help me excel in my position,” she continued.
Bertini credits more than just her classes for her level of preparedness to take on the world post-graduation. “The people I met during my time at Simpson greatly impacted my life, with faculty and staff providing academic and professional guidance that helped me reach my full potential,” she says. “They challenged me intellectually, connected me with career opportunities, and mentored me throughout my journey.”
And it’s not just the faculty and staff who made a positive impact, but her fellow classmates as well. “The peers I was able to connect with gave me lifelong friends that continue to support me to this day and helped me navigate the challenges of college,” said Bertini.
Moving forward, Taryn hopes to use all she’s learned and experienced at Simpson and in her current position to continue growing her career. “I aim to advance in the communications field, helping others transform their ideas into words and designs,” she says. “I also hope to continue working closely with others to build personal relationships, which not only help enhance my creativity but also foster my professional growth.”
