Explore the Class of ’24: Kolbie Bass
Kolbie Bass is headed to Mercy College after graduating from Simpson with a degree in Health And Exercise Science. She is participating in the 3+1 program offered by Simpson and Mercy College, allowing her to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science or Biology from Simpson and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Mercy College in approximately the amount of time it would typically take to earn a degree from one institution.
Thanks to her professors, Kolbie is ready to take the program by storm. “Simpson College made an impact on me with all of the amazing people, professors and staff who encouraged, taught and advised me,” said Bass. “I was lucky enough to have amazing professors who not only taught me but advised me and helped me be successful in just three short years.”
Her classes and a wide array of experiences also played a huge role in preparing her for the Mercy program. “Simpson prepared me for the nursing program by offering classes that challenged me and were career-specific,” said Bass. “The opportunities I was also given, such as studying abroad, job shadowing, completing internships, and participating in cocurricular activities, not only impacted me personally but also my future.”
As for her future, Kolbie plans to spend it on the road and in the delivery room. “My aspiration moving forward is to complete my BSN degree and become a labor and delivery traveling nurse,” said Bass.
