Jared Bienemann Named Vice President for Advancement
President Kelliher has appointed Jared Bienemann to serve as the College’s next vice president for College Advancement. He will assume his duties on July 1st.
Bienemann has served at Buena Vista University since 2020, holding positions as executive director of development and, most recently, as assistant vice president for advancement. Previously, he compiled an impressive track record as a fundraiser during more than four years of service for the University of Iowa’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences — elevating from associate director of development to director of development during that time. He began his advancement career at Cornell College, serving two years as associate director of development.
“Jared is not only an accomplished fundraiser and leader, he exudes a love for the liberal arts that is certain to fuel his success at Simpson,” said President Kelliher. “He’s a collaborative team player who effectively employs best practices in advancement work, including the pursuit of digital innovations in prospect cultivation and engagement.”
A 2007 graduate of Coe College, Bienemann says he’s thrilled to be joining the Simpson community.
“From Simpson’s commitment to student success, innovative learning opportunities and inclusive educational access, I’m so honored to join this incredible institution,” said Bienemann. “I look forward to working with President Kelliher and her cabinet, the distinguished board of trustees, and the outstanding advancement team. Together, we will build on Simpson’s strong culture of philanthropy.”
Bienemann will succeed long-serving Vice President of College Advancement Bob Lane, who earlier this spring announced his intentions to move into a major gift officer role at Simpson. He is doing so as part of his phased retirement plan to help ensure a smooth transition in advancement leadership.
