Join Simpson College for the 2022 Spring Commencement Ceremony on April 30
The Simpson College 2022 Spring Commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. in Cowles Fieldhouse on the Indianola campus. Doors open at 8:15 a.m., and there are no tickets required.
Prior to the ceremony, ushers will be available to provide seating assistance. Guests who would like to be seated near the sign language interpreters are asked to express that desire, so an usher may direct them to that area.
Commencement is a mask-optional event, but a mask-required remote viewing area will be held in the Principal Black Box Theatre within the Kent Campus Center.
Commencement guests can look forward to hearing from Simpson graduates Andrea Babcock of Des Moines, Iowa, and Jessica Grimm of Pella, Iowa. Andrea graduated from Des Moines East High School and will be graduating from Simpson with a degree in Health and Exercise Science and a minor in French. In addition to her studies, she played on the Simpson volleyball team for two years, participated in the Health and Exercise Science Club, and was an active member of Pi Beta Phi. Andrea will be continuing her education at the University of Iowa to pursue a master’s degree in Health and Human Physiology in the fall.
Jessica Grimm transferred to Simpson College into the Continuing and Graduate program from Des Moines Area Community College. As a successful adult transfer student, she was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society in 2021. Upon completing her degree program, Jessica’s goals are to continue advancing her career in healthcare administration.
A reception with light refreshments will be held following the ceremony on the Pedestrian Plaza in front of the Kent Campus Center. All guests are welcome to attend.
