Plain as Day — Simpson is a “Hidden Gem”

College Raptor has named Simpson College a “Hidden Gem” in Plains Region Colleges for 2024. Simpson is just one of three Iowa colleges to be so recognized among a group of 21 colleges across seven Midwest states.

In its ninth year, Raptor’s “Hidden Gems” list recognizes “exceptional colleges…who provide a high-quality academic experience.” Selection factors include retention and graduation rates, student-to-faculty ratio, endowment per student and selectivity.

This week, Simpson welcomed 381 first-year and transfer students to campus — an 11 percent increase over a year ago and its largest new student Class in five years.
