Sensational Seniors: Ilianna Murphy ’25

B.A. Political Science, Social Justice Studies
JD Candidate, Sandra Day O’Conner College of Law, Arizona State University

The last four years have shown Ilianna Murphy that she is capable of much more than she previously thought possible.

“Simpson showed me the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone — to put yourself out there and try new things. I never imagined I would become the student body vice president and I was also nervous about spending a semester studying in Washington, D.C. But I ended up loving the experience and took on another internship to extend my time there.”

Murphy says it’s difficult one thing she cherished most about Simpson. She relished all the meaningful relationships she made, the professors who challenged and supported her, and the internships that pushed her to grow.

Looking ahead, she’s ready to take on most anything.

“Simpson prepared me to excel by teaching me how to advocate for myself and think critically. I’ve gained the confidence to speak up, ask questions and approach problems with a thoughtful, analytical mindset. These are all skills that will be useful in my future endeavors.”
