Simpson Earns Five Top 10 Rankings from U.S. News & World Report

Simpson College has received top 10 recognition in five categories of the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Regional Colleges Midwest rankings released in September. Simpson’s accolades include a #8 overall ranking and #3 for Best Undergraduate Teaching.

“These impressive rankings once again underscore Simpson’s enduring commitment to distinctive excellence,” said Simpson President Sue Stuebner. “I am especially pleased to see affirmation of our exemplary undergraduate teaching, which is a testament to our outstanding faculty and the impact they make in transforming students’ lives.”

U.S. News & World Report also lauded Simpson as the #8 Top Private College, #9 Best Value School and the #8 Top Performer in Social Mobility, which measures how well a college serves economically disadvantaged students.

“Ensuring affordability and accessibility for capable and highly motivated students from all financial circumstances is a longstanding hallmark of Simpson College,” said Stuebner. “Most recently, we have been able to open many more doors for students through our continually expanding “All-In for Iowa” full-tuition scholarship programs.”

This fall, Simpson welcomed its largest incoming class in more than a decade —enrolling 431 new students, including 392 first-year students and 39 transfers.
