Simpson Productions presents Euripides’ Medea, March 28-30

Simpson Productions presents Euripides’ Medea, adapted and directed by Kara Raphaeli. The show opens March 28 and runs for one weekend in Pote Theatre.
Twenty years have passed, and Medea is now 48, living in northern Iran with the Medes people. Her son, Medus, is the young ruler of Colchis, Media, and several other regions. Though she has stability and power, she continues to relive her final day in Corinth—the day she murdered King Creon and her children.
Raphaeli’s adaptation offers a new perspective on Medea.
“Medea as an antihero doesn’t interest me,” Raphaeli said. “I imagine Medea haunted by her own actions, reliving the worst day of her life repeatedly in her mind. As such, this is a memory play.”
Performances will be held at the Blank Performing Arts Center at Simpson College on March 28-29 at 7:30 p.m. and March 30 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and non-Simpson students, and $6.50 for groups of 10 or more. Simpson students and employees with ID can attend for free.
