Simpson Productions has announced its schedule for the 2020-21 season. Simpson College’s theatre, opera and musical theatre collaboration will put on six performances covering a variety of genres throughout the year.
For the first time, Simpson Productions performances will be available in a virtual format. Because restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic limit large gatherings, a majority of the 2020-21 season can be viewed online.
“It was our departmental goal to make sure that our students had the opportunity to create in this strange environment,” said Jennifer Nostrala, professor of theatre arts. “With each production, we are focusing on creating great theatre in a new format.”
The season is set to begin Friday, Oct. 16 with Prospera’s Island: An Operatic Fantasia. The performance runs through Oct. 22. There is no charge for virtual events but donations to Simpson Productions are welcome.
