What if I lock my account?

The Information Technology Services Help Desk can reset your password and unlock your account.  Information Technology Services can be reached by phone at 515-961-1411, by email at helpdesk@simpson.edu, or you can stop by our offices in the lower level of McNeill Hall.  Help Desk hours can be found on the Help Desk site.

How do I change my password?

If you have forgotten your password, go to OneLogin (https://simpsoncollege.onelogin.com/portal) and select “Forgot Password” under the “Continue” button

If you want to change your password, go to your profile in OneLogin and choose “Change Password” in the left navigation.

Are there password requirements?

Yes, please follow these very important password requirements:

  • Minimum password length: 14
  • Disallow use of 3 previous passwords
  • Disallow the use of these patterns: qwerty, asdf, 1234, simpson, fall, winter, spring, summer.

How do I choose a password?

When you change your password it must follow the requirements listed above. A phrase that you can remember and is not necessarily associated with you such as the first sentence in a book you like can work or acronyms that mean something to you can work very well.  An example of a secure password might be “It was a dark and stormy knight!” This passphrase contains capital and lower case letters, spaces, a grammar issue, and special characters.

It is time to change your password if:

  • You have revealed your password to anyone else.
  • You have written your password down anywhere.
  • You have surrendered your credentials via a phishing attempt.
