Whether you choose to get married in Smith Chapel or at another location, we would be happy to host your reception.
You want your reception to be memorable and Simpson can provide the backdrop for a successful event.
Our facilities offer you a variety of settings from which to choose. With seating for up to 400 people, a state-of-the-art sound/lighting system and incredible food options, you will have a reception that is sure to impress.
Hubbell Hall
Hubbell Hall is one of the newest venues on campus. Located on the second floor of the Kent Campus Center, Hubbell Hall can be opened into one large room or divided into two smaller rooms depending on your needs. The hall’s contemporary, modern setting boasts a panoramic view of beautiful Buxton Park, state-of-the-art media for slideshows, videos and music, banquet-style seating for 350 people, and available dance floor.

Great Hall
Great Hall, with it’s vaulted cathedral ceilings and wooden beams creates a warm, romantic space to celebrate your wedding. Located on the second floor of Pfeiffer Dining Hall, the space can accommodate 250 people seated banquet-style. The elevated stage is perfect for the head table and the parquet floor makes for great dancing. Special lighting and sound in Great Hall can be arranged.

Principal Black Box
The Principal Black Box theatre provides a more modern, industrial feel to allow for any type of decor. The venue is on the first floor of the Kent Campus Center with an open ceiling to a second mezzanine level. The Black Box has a cement floor, stage, incredible lighting and sound system and can seat 275 guests banquet-style.
