Simpson Storm Shelter

The Simpson Storm Shelter is home to the campus food co-op and clothing closet, located on the first floor of Kresge Hall. The hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-12pm. Visits outside of these hours can be scheduled by reaching out to Ellie Blosser, AmeriCorps Service & Community Engagement Coordinator, via email ellie.blosser@simpson.edu.
The Storm Shelter is available for all students to utilize, and their student ID will let them into Kresge Hall. Food co-op items include non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and a limited supply of refrigerated and frozen items. Clothing closet items include a combination of business and casual attire for students of all genders. All donations are sorted throughout the week to best meet the needs of our students.

- Are there any requirements to visit the Storm Shelter?
- No, all students are welcome regardless of their financial status.
- How many times can I visit per month?
- There is no limit on the number of times students can use the shelter. Visit as often as you’d like!
- What’s the food inventory like?
- Our shelves are stocked with non-perishable items, hygiene products, and a limited supply of refrigerated and frozen items. The supply will rotate weekly.
- What kind of clothes are available?
- Our clothing racks are stocked with a combination of business and casual attire for students of all genders.

How You Can Help
- Do you accept donations?
- Yes! Donations are accepted at the Student Development Office, located on the second floor of Kent Campus Center. There are also donation boxes outside of the Storm Shelter, and in Holy Grounds Coffee Shop on campus.
- What can I donate?
- We accept a variety of nonperishable food and personal hygiene items to stock the Storm Shelter. Clothing donations are not needed at this time. A list of high-need items are included here:

- Peanut Butter
- Condiments/Sauces
- Canned Protein (Tuna & Chicken)
- Fruit Snacks/Fruit Cups/Fruit Pouches
