Join the Simpson College community as we celebrate the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 with two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 1 at Buxton Stadium. Those unable to attend in person can watch via live video stream the day of the ceremony. 

The first ceremony will recognize spring 2020 and fall 2020 graduates and their families beginning at 10 a.m. The second ceremony will recognize spring 2021 graduates and their families beginning at 2 p.m. To ensure the safety of all in attendance, social distancing and mask protocols will be followed in keeping with Simpson College regulations.

There will not be a formal reception following either ceremony. Guests should plan to meet their graduates outside of Buxton Stadium.

Commencement schedule

Friday, April 30
7 p.m. Baccalaureate (outside Smith Chapel)
Saturday, May 1
8 a.m. Gates open for guest seating, 10 a.m. ceremony (ticket required)
9:15 a.m. Graduation procession check-in on east side of Hillman Hall, line up in front of Smith Chapel
10 a.m. Commencement ceremony honoring May and December 2020 graduates

About the ceremony

All members of the Simpson College community, including employees, students and visitors, are expected to follow the Simpson College COVID-19 Health Guidelines. Properly-worn masks are required for entry into Buxton Stadium. Social distancing from members outside of your party are also required.

All guests will be responsible for self-screening prior to entering Buxton Stadium. If you have active symptoms, contracted or have been exposed to COVID-19, please enjoy the live stream from home.

Disposable masks will be available at the entrance gates for guests without a mask. Hand sanitizing stations will also be available.
