The walk-up or drive-through clinic goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at the west entrance to Memorial Park, located at 602 North G St. in Indianola. There will be 1,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine available.

“I’m thrilled that the city is a part of this partnership,” Indianola Mayor Pam Pepper said. “It is critical that everyone in Indianola receive a vaccine. I encourage all of our eligible residents to take part in this event.”

Those receiving a vaccination will begin at the west entrance to Memorial Park and continue on W Euclid toward the City Pool parking lot.

“We are thrilled to be able to take part in this community event and get one step closer to putting the COVID-19 pandemic behind us,” Simpson College President Marsha Kelliher said. “As proud members of the Indianola community, Simpson College is looking forward to helping put on this important event.”

In order to receive the vaccine, individuals will need to complete a consent form and provide a photocopy of the front and back of their insurance card. A copy of a prescription card (Rx Card) should also be provided, if applicable. Those without health insurance must provide a photocopy of their driver’s license.

“I am always so proud of how our community comes together and this clinic is no different,” said Nate Fehl, Indianola Hy-Vee store director. “Hy-Vee, Simpson College and the City of Indianola joined together to help the community have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. I love this community.”

Volunteers are needed to facilitate the event. Those interested can sign up for an available time slot here. Volunteer positions needed include:

  • Traffic marshals — providing direction as guests arrive in the parking lot
  • Vaccination tent — helping with paperwork and drawing up vaccines – experience preferred
  • Post-vaccination waiting area — monitoring recipients for adverse reactions – CPR-certified preferred

A clinic to administer the second dose will take place Thursday, April 29. Information on the second event is forthcoming.
