Michael DeVito to lead top U.S. mortgage finance company

Simpson College Board of Trustees member Michael DeVito was recently named CEO of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, commonly referred to as Freddie Mac.

DeVito assumed the role at the Fortune 500 company June 1, 2021 following a search by the Freddie Mac Board of Directors. He previously spent 23 years at Wells Fargo and Company, rising to the level of Executive Vice President, Head of Home Lending.

“This is a well-deserved opportunity for a proven leader like Michael DeVito,” Simpson College President Marsha Kelliher said. “Mr. DeVito has provided invaluable guidance and support as a member of the Board of Trustees over the last seven years. The leadership and support of the entire Board allows Simpson College to deliver on its mission every day and produce graduates who lead lives of meaning and purpose.”
