Adult Education Expands Opportunities
New name, programs and partnerships announced
Simpson College adult education is adding five programs of study and creating workforce partnerships across the region, under the new moniker of Simpson Online & Graduate Studies (SOGS). The latest enhancements provide adult learners with more opportunities to advance their careers while empowering employers to strengthen employees’ professional skills and talents.
Beginning this fall, Simpson Online & Graduate Studies will offer five new pre-baccalaureate certificates: data analytics, trauma & resiliency, computer programming, intermediate Spanish and Spanish for the Professions.
“We are thrilled to be adding these timely, in-demand programs,” said John Woell, senior vice president and academic dean of the College. “Our fully online courses and multiple start times a year provide optimal convenience for busy professionals seeking to elevate their careers. Best of all, our students receive the personal attention and support they deserve.”
In all, Simpson Online & Graduate Studies now offers 14 bachelor’s, master’s and certificate programs. Students completing these programs not only enhance their career prospects, but they also help fill the vital, growing needs of employers.
To that end, Simpson has also established a Workforce Partnership program designed to support employers seeking to address professional development needs in their businesses and organizations. Employer participation is free of charge and comes with the benefit of a 20 percent tuition discount on Simpson Online & Graduate Studies for their employees.
“This is the consummate win-win scenario,” said Simpson President Jay Byers. “Our region is rich with attractive employment opportunities across all sectors. The expansive workforce partnerships we create will open many doors for professionals to acquire and leverage invaluable educational enrichment that grows their value and contributions to employers.”
Employers interested in becoming a Workforce Partner are encouraged to contact Jennifer Miller, dean of Simpson Online & Graduate Studies, at jennifer.miller@simpson.edu for details.
