Simpson Tops Iowa, Earns Top-5 Regional Ranking from U.S. News & World Report

Simpson College is #1 among Iowa private colleges and #5 overall in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Regional Colleges Midwest Rankings released today. Simpson’s Midwest honors also included a #5 ranking among “Best Value Schools.”

“We continue to enjoy a stellar reputation as a leader in delivering affordable excellence,” said President Jay Byers. “And we are building great momentum in enhancing the educational experience for our students with significant investments in facilities and programs. There’s a ton of excitement about what’s happening at Simpson right now.”

Simpson also received a #16 ranking for “Top Performers on Social Mobility,” which measures a school’s support for economically disadvantaged students. Last week, Simpson introduced its “All-In for Iowa” campaign” for Fall 2024, which will provide full-tuition scholarships for first-time enrolling Iowa students whose family adjusted gross family income is $100,000 or less.

In all, 83 Midwest Regional Colleges were evaluated in the U.S. News & World Report rankings. Regional Colleges feature a full range of undergraduate programs, as well as graduate education at the master’s level. With an 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio, Simpson offers 75 majors, minors, and programs. Master’s degrees are available in criminal justice, teaching, and choral conducting.

Earlier this year, Simpson earned 4.5 out of 5 stars in the 2023 Best Colleges in America ratings by Money.com. The high marks are based on 24 factors encompassing educational quality, affordability, and outcomes.

This fall, Simpson welcomed its largest incoming class in five years with 381 first-year and transfer students — an 11 percent increase over last year.
