Strengths

Essential information presented in a way that is easy to understand and apply. Offers multiple approaches to developing a thesis

Weaknesses

Not always effective

Recommendations for use

I regularly have students read over the information in the preliminary stages of writing a paper. I also ask them to apply the information to a peer’s paper when reviewing in class. They are far more astute in seeing the weaknesses in other students’ theses than in their own!
