Steps and clarifications to help students evaluate an argument: The website uses form, content, & context to evaluate validity. Both form and content demonstrate the warrant of the argument. Practice activities are linked in the website.

Go to materials:

Strengths:

The content is ready-to-use without modification. Students have the opportunity to practice testing an argument for validity.

Concerns:

The website is from 2004. There are some references to a textbook that our students would not have access to. The different activities should be previewed. They each have students practice different ways of checking an argument. Some of the examples are outdated.

Recommendations:

Consider choosing a couple parts of the different activities to practice in class. This would allow the instructor to ignore the older examples.
