Faculty Awards

The Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates outstanding ability as a teacher, concern for students’ personal development, enhancement of high academic standards, and an attitude and performance that supports Simpson College’s goals by an associate or full professor.
Faculty, staff, and students are able to nominate. The winner will be determined via Senior class vote.

The Distinguished Junior Faculty Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates outstanding teaching, professional development, service to the college and advising by an instructor or assistant professor.
Only faculty are able to nominate. The winner will be determined by the Faculty Personnel Committee.

The Distinguished Research Award recognizes a faculty member who completed a research project, publication or work of art deemed to be of high professional quality by standards of peers within the appropriate discipline.
Faculty, staff, and students are able to nominate. The winner will be determined by a committee consiting of the previous three recipients.

The Faculty Award for Campus Leadership was established at Simpson in 1992 to recognize faculty members who have provided outstanding campus leadership in service to students.
Faculty, staff, and students are able to nominate. The winner will be determined by the faculty members that serve on Board committees.

The Faculty Award for Exemplary Teaching was established at Simpson in 2012 to recognize full-time faculty members who exemplify excellence in teaching.
Faculty and students are able to nominate. The winner will be determined by the Faculty Personnel Committee.
