Internships

Internships play a key role in your career development during college and prepare you for professional pursuits after college.

These important work experiences allow you to apply what you've learned in the classroom to a professional setting while being supported by industry mentors.

Often internships turn into full-time positions. Regardless, you’ll gain valuable professional experience, a chance to explore your career options, learn new skills and build a broader network. Simpson College students have interned in a wide range of positions, places and industries—from Principal Financial Group in Des Moines to the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis to the United States Senate in Washington, D.C.

Location matters

In recent years, Des Moines has been touted by numerous outlets as one of the best cities in the country for young professionals because of its job growth, opportunity and affordability. Simpson’s deep-rooted connections and proximity to that thriving location will support your search for an internship that could lead to a successful first career outcome after graduation.
