Shooting Sports Club

Safe, responsible, challenging, rewarding

The Simpson College Shooting Sports Club provides a safe opportunity for students to participate responsibly in shooting sports. The Club is open to to Simpson College students of all experience levels, those interested in recreational shooting as well as competition. We seek to educate people on the proper  handling, care and use of a firearm, in addition to exposing participants to the shooting sports. Size, shape, gender, speed and skill are not factors in being a part of the Club. Whether you are a beginner or an Olympic hopeful, the coaching staff will work with you to hone your skills on the range and in the classroom. We strive to provide a friendly and positive atmosphere, where people with a common interest in the shooting sports can meet and share their passion.

There are two different aspects of the Shooting Sports Club - the Club itself and the Competitive Team.

Shooting Sports Club

The purpose of the Shooting Sports Club is to make available a variety of shooting venues to students attending Simpson College. The following are goals, objectives and activities for the Club.

  • Foster a spirit that promotes and supports shooting sports.

The competitive team usually consists of individual that have taken on a substantial commitment to the preservation of the Club and the development of their competitive skills. The competitive team is comprised of the top shooters from the Club team that elect to shoot at a competitive level.
