Biography
I am the Assistant Director of Student Activities, but my main area of focus is recreation, intramurals, health and wellness. The students make this job fun, exciting and full of energy. I have a special interest in these areas and believe it is important for students, staff and faculty to learn, maintain and create healthy lifestyles. Intramurals offers a way for participants to take a break and play. Students not only play a game, but learn about time management skills, responsibility, frustration with others, failure, success, leadership, sportsmanship and most of all create friendships with their peers. I appreciate all the varied talents Simpson students have and use in all they do.
I have been working at Simpson for 11 years and still going strong. I live in Winterset with my family, Jason, Easton and Avary. My husband teaches and coaches at Winterset and I spend my extra time at Kardio Kick Gym. I teach kickboxing, resistance bands, Zumba, kids kickboxing and Fit Forever. When I am not teaching, I am attending class. Easton is 10 and Avary is 7, so as you can imagine, we are always on the go with their activities as well.
I am on the Board of Directors for the Winterset Parks and Recreation Department as well. I enjoy working with the all aspects of wellness both in Winterset and at Simpson.
