Forensic Science/Biochemistry
Major
We'll show you how to go from research labs at Simpson to a professional career
The forensic science/biochemistry major is intended to prepare you for entry-level jobs in labs performing forensic analysis or for graduate work in chemistry, biochemistry, forensics, molecular or cell biology or related technology fields.
What will I learn?
You will engage in hands-on experiences in the George Washington Carver Science Center featuring biotechnology facilities for building and using recombinant DNA, imaging systems for developmental biology and a human cadaver lab.
You will cover topics such as elements, compounds and nomenclature, reactions and stoichiometry, reactions in aqueous solution, atomic structure, bonding and molecular structure, energy in chemical reactions and an introduction to organic chemistry.
Looking for what sets Simpson apart?
Simpson is one of fewer than 50 colleges or universities in the country, and one of only a few schools in Iowa, to offer a forensic science degree.
