Louis Joslyn '16
While at Simpson, Louis double-majored in Mathematics and Computer Science with a minor in Political Science. He also participated in soccer and was scholarship chair for Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He participated in the Bryan Summer Research program where his group used graph theory to study the road networks of Indianola. Louis participated in the MCM/ICM three times. Currently, he is a pre-candidate PhD student at the University of Michigan Medical School in the department of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics. He is also a Graduate Student Research Assistant. He researches with the immunological response to Tuberculosis infection using mathematical and computational techniques.

Bree Gaster '16
Bree majored in actuarial science, economics and accounting. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and the Actuarial Science club during her time at Simpson. She also ran track and cross country. She participated in the MCM/ICM three years. Bree studied abroad in Thailand for a semester. Currently, she works at Athene in West Des Moines.

Elisa Wildy '17
While at Simpson, Elisa participated in volleyball and ran track. She also played viola in the orchestra and was a member of the Chamber Music Group. She participated in the MCIS Computer Programming Competition four years, the ACM Computer Programming Competition one year, and the MCM/ICM two years. Also during her time at Simpson, she had two summer internships with Athene in Des Moines. Currently, Elisa is a Senior Actuarial Assistant at Life Annuity Valuation of Mutual in Omaha.

Kelly Brass '17
While at Simpson, Kelly Brass double majored in Mathematics and Biochemistry and minored in Spanish. She participated in the MCM/ICM, worked as a math tutor, worked on undergraduate research projects in Biology and Chemistry, and worked as an undergraduate assistant in the Career Development office. She also participated in the Best Buddies program. Now, Kelly works as a Laboratory Technologist in the Cellular Biology department at Celcuity in Minneapolis.

Mike Henry '14
Mike Henry double majored in Mathematics and Physics. While studying at Simpson, he was a member of the Differential Analyzer Club, Math Club, and Physics Club. Mike participated in the MCM/ICM, the University Physics Competition, and the Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium Programming Contest. He was also a member of the National Physics Honor Society and Kappa Theta Psi. Now, Mike is a Ph.D. student at Boise State University.

Cody Good '17
At Simpson, Cody majored in Actuarial Science and minored in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, and Economics. He was a member of the basketball team. Now, Cody is a data analyst/researcher for Kerns and Associates in Ames.

Hannah Carlson '17
At Simpson, Hannah Carlson double majored in Mathematics and Vocal Performance. She was heavily involved with the opera department and participated in all eight operas during her time at Simpson. She also participated in the MCM/ICM her junior year and presented her senior capstone project at several events. Currently, Hannah is studying Vocal Performance at the Boston Conservatory and is participating in an opera there. She is also tutoring in mathematics and giving voice and piano lessons.

Katie Westlund '16
At Simpson, Katie Westlund majored in Actuarial Science and minored in Computer Science. Currently, she works as a Reinsurance Specialist at Securian Financial, an insurance company in St. Paul.

Teig Loge '17
While at Simpson, Teig Loge double majored in Mathematics and Computer Science and minored in Computer Information Systems. He was a part of the Student Government Association and the Symphonic and Pep Bands. He participated in computer programming contests and the Bryan Summer Research Program. Since he has graduated, he has been working for Employers Mutual Casualty Company as an Assistant Data Scientist in the Strategic Analytics department.

Katie Davis '15
Katie graduated with a major in mathematics and management with a minor in accounting. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority at Simpson. She also had a work study position and participated in intramural sports. Since graduating, she has been in executive recruiting with Korn Ferry, Futurestep initially based out of Dallas, TX and recently relocating to Arkansas.

Alicia Escher '17
Alicia Escher majored in Mathematics and minored in Coaching. She participated in volleyball for three years and also played intramural sports. She participated in two Campus Days of Service. She had a work study job as the Office Assistant for the Office of Student Development and Health Services. Alicia participated in the MCM/ICM twice. Now, she works as a Pricing Actuary at EMC Insurance Companies in Des Moines. At work, she focuses on Personal Lines products.

Taylor Gehrls '17
At Simpson, Taylor double majored in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems and minored in Computer Science. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and served as Sponsor Chair, Academic Chair, and Vice President of Membership. She was also a member of the Panhellenic Council where she served as Vice President of Records and Vice President of Internal Affairs. Taylor was a member of the Math Club where she served as both President and Vice President. She also participated in Rotaract Club. In addition, she participated in the MCM/ICM for three years. After graduation, she worked as a programmer in Des Moines at EMC Insurance. Now, she is a Digital Strategist for Converge in Cedar Rapids.

Erik Hall '16
While at Simpson, Erik majored in Mathematics and minored in Computer Information Systems. He played football for all four years and was a member of the fraternity Alpha Tau Omega in which he served as treasurer and academic chair. He was also a Wesley Service Scholar. Now, he is working on his Master’s degree in Texas. His fulltime job is associate data scientist for a healthcare market research firm known as DSS Research.

Emma Jones '15
At Simpson, Emma double majored in Mathematics and Biology. Also during her time at Simpson, she was in band, orchestra, small group wind ensembles, and participated in Upward Bound tutoring. She was also a CA and lab assistant. After Simpson, she worked at Epic in Madison, Wisconsin for two years and is currently doing an MS in biostatistics at UC Denver.

Allison Frideres '17
While at Simpson, Allison majored in Mathematics and minored in Computer Science and Psychology. She participated in the MCM/ICM for three years. She was also a member of the Math Club, participated in a summer REU at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and mentored a group of incoming STEM students. She also participated in Fandom Club, where she was the president for a year. Now, she will be starting an internship at Farm Bureau in the actuarial department.

Sara Reed '16
While at Simpson, Sara double majored in Mathematics and Economics/Finance and minored in Computer Science. She was also a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, an Economics Undergraduate Assistant, a Wesley Service Scholar, and a Cowles Fellow. Also, she was a member of Math Club, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Omicron Delta Kappa. After Simpson, Sara started a doctoral program in Applied Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Iowa. While there, she is working on research in the Management Sciences Department.

Amelia Bertness '13
Amelia was a transfer to Simpson. She began majoring in Accounting, but she switched to Mathematics. She also participated in the Bryan Summer Research Program. This program inspired her to choose her senior research topic, Rotationally Symmetric Rose Links. After Simpson, she worked at Bankers Trust in operations as an Electronic Banking Specialist, Electronic Banking Analyst, and an Electronic Banking Officer. She lived abroad for a year in Japan and taught English. After returning, she returned to Bankers Trust and is now the Cards and ATM Analyst.
