May Term

Discover Ireland and Great Britain (TRAVEL COURSE)
Visit prehistoric and Roman sites, medieval castles and cathedrals, modern palaces, and places where crucial decisions were made that shaped Irish, British, and world history. We explore Dublin, Edinburgh Castle, Stonehenge, Oxford University, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London, British Museum, and more!

Exploring Politics in Washington, D.C. (TRAVEL COURSE)
Immerse yourself in 200 years of American politics and history as we meet elected officials, attend public lectures, see historic sites, and watch Congressional debates and U.S. Supreme Court rulings in real time. You also meet students in our CHIP semester and Simpson alumni who now live and work on “the Hill.”

Iowa Political and Legal Careers
In this course, you hear firsthand from Iowa legislators, lobbyists, journalists, and attorneys about job opportunities. To explore careers in the public sector, you tour workplaces, learn about organization missions, and research and write about career fields in politics and law in Des Moines.
