Phi Alpha Theta is a national history honor society, founded in 1921. There are over 860 chapters nationwide, including fourteen chapters in Iowa. Chapter Alpha Beta Psi was founded at Simpson College in 1985. Our membership includes students, alumni, and professors who share a passion for history and a commitment to excellence. In addition to our annual initiation ceremony (which includes a serpent), our chapter's activities include volunteering at Iowa History Day competitions, contributing to themed history month celebrations on campus, history movie nights, and much more.

Our annual dinner and new member initiation was on March 21 - next meeting TBA.
