The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is launching the Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship for students training in high demand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.  The Rogers STEM scholarship is now available at: https://www.va.gov/education/apply-for-education-benefits/application/1995/introduction.

Recipients will receive up to nine months of additional Post-9/11 GI Bill® entitlement or a maximum of $30,000.  Eligible Post 9/11 GI Bill® students must have either exhausted their entitlement or will exhaust their entitlement within 180 days.  Eligibility for the scholarship has two paths:

  • A student enrolled in a STEM program leading to an undergraduate degree who has completed 60 credit hours of their program and requires at least 120 semester (or 180 quarter) credit hours to graduate.
  • A student who has earned a STEM undergraduate degree and has enrolled in a teaching certification program.

The Des Moines Chapter of Mothers of Multiples organization is sponsoring one $500 scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year for Iowa's multiple birth students pursuing enrollment or currently enrolled in a college, university, trade or vocational school.  More information can also be found on their website dmmom.com/scholarship.  All documents should be postmarked by April 1st to qualify.  Any questions can be directed to scholarship@dmmom.com.  

Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for students who are enrolled in a health care program as detailed on the website.  Applicants must have graduated from high school in one of the communities served by the Grundy County Memorial Hospital service area of Butler, Grundy, Hardin or Tama Counties.  Application deadline is May 31, 2021.

Executive Women International (EWI) of Des Moines offers the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program in the central Iowa area. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to adult students in a non-traditional or transitional educational situation. EWI believes that the ASIST Program will positively impact the personal life, employment, family and community of the applicant.   Applications are completed online through Kaleidoscope.com.  No paper applications will be accepted.  Access is available at https://app.mykaleidoscope.com/scholarship/asist.
