Thanks to Everyone for a Great Middle School Honor Band January 2023.  It was great watching the Guest Conductors and the students performed wonderfully. Mark your calendars, the 2023-24 Middle School Honor Band will be January 16.

 

 

Simpson College has hosted an honor band for 7th and 8th grade students for thirty five years. This festival allows students from many schools to come together and work with exciting guest conductors.  Typically over fifty schools participate. The event occurs in January and students perform in the newly renovated Pote Theatre in the Blank Performing Arts Center.

Clinicians for the 2022-23 honor band will be Dr. Christopher Brandt from Graceland University and Simpson Alumni, Crystal Rumbaugh from Ankeny.

8:45 a.m.       Registration begins in the lobby of the Amy Robertson Music Center

                      Lunch Tickets available

                      Lekberg Hall will be available as a holding area for early arrivals

9:30               Rehearsals begin

Gold Band will be in Pote (BPAC building)

Red Band will be in HARRIS HALL (Band Room)

12:15 p.m.     Student Lunch in Pfeiffer Dining Hall
