Turn-in procedure for your syllabus

All instructors are expected to submit their finalized syllabi to the college for archival purposes. This is not an approval process. The archive is used for syllabus audit purposes AND for Higher Learning Commission documentation. Because we have inconsistency in our archival process, the following procedure will be in place beginning FALL 2016 and going forward.

Part-time Faculty will email finalized syllabi to BOTH the Department Chair (don.evans@simpson.edu) and to the Associate Dean for General Education and Assessment (coryanne.harrigan@simpson.edu).  The Associate Dean will ensure that the part-time adjunct instructor’s syllabi are archived appropriately.

Full-time Faculty will email finalized syllabi to BOTH the Department Chair (don.evans@simpson.edu) and to the AdministrativeAssistant to the Dean (chelsea.grenier@simpson.edu). Sandy will ensure that full-time instructor’s syllabi are archived appropriately.

Department Chairs will help encourage participation among all faculty members as part of their faculty mentorship role. Please note, however, that the Dept Chair in the Department of Music appreciates your attention to this matter in a timely fashion to avoid the need for follow-up. Providing our students and the institution a copy of our syllabi is a responsibility of all faculty members, and is not an optional activity.
