This committee meets close to weekly to discuss applicants wishing to study at Simpson College. Committee members read the applicants’ files prior to the meeting.
Membership:
Three full-time faculty members from separate divisions with staggered terms.
Ex officio non-voting members: Vice President for Enrollment, and the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment & Financial Assistance.
The president of the student government with the advice and consent of the student senate shall appoint one student who will be available to participate on the committee to discuss policy issues, at the request of the committee.
Responsibilities:
To formulate and recommend to the faculty policies governing the admission of students
To evaluate the administration of the admission policies, and to report its operation to the faculty
To develop policy regarding scholarships, student aid, activity aid, and recommend adoption of such policy to the faculty, administration, or student government as appropriate
