This resource clearly identifies the values that many groups or teams share.  It then applies these values to effective teams. The resource clearly identifies the obstacles to effective group work, provides examples of dysfunction, and then provides activities to try in the classroom.

Strengths

This resource clearly identifies the obstacles to effective teamwork. Two activities are classroom ready, and require no modification.

Concerns

The values introduction at the beginning might be too difficult for some students, and it might be beyond the scope of what some instructors would want to use. (See recommendation for implementation.)

Recommendations for use

Try starting with the section “Obstacles to Group Work,” and have a class complete exercises 2-3. Try modifying exercise 4 to reflect the content of your course. Exercises 2-4 could be spread over three days (30 minutes of group time each day). Day three could be content specific. (use exercise 4 on the last day.) There are some downloadable resources with this on this site that are immediately usable without alteration, including a jeopardy game, and some PowerPoints. To fully implement these lessons, with the auxiliary materials, it would take at least 5 hours of instructional time.
