Spam Filter versus Junk Mail

By Sal Meyers, Feb 3, 2014

Using Simpson’s Spam Filter

Junk Mail is a folder within Outlook where items likely to be spam are directed.  Simpson also has a spam filter that catches things before they ever arrive in Outlook.  This filter is called CanIt and can be accessed at https://storm.simpson.edu/canit/index.php.  I recommend that you get into the habit of checking CanIt regularly; however, it is particularly important that you do so if you are heading a search committee or submitting a document for publication.  In both of these cases, you are likely to receive e-mails with attachments that are sent from off campus.  Off campus e-mails with attachments are particularly likely to get caught in the spam filter.  Click on the link to the video above to learn how to check your spam filter and how to request daily (or weekly) reminders to check your spam filter.
