Brief video/text tutorials, and links to online resources that help when formulating a research question, finding and citing resources, or preparing a presentation.
FLIP It! is an acronym for Focus (specify the topic), Link/Locate (strategize the process), Input/Investigate/Implement (sort, sift, and store data), Produce/Present/Payoff (solve and show results), Intelligent Thinking needed at all steps.
If the link above doesn’t work, go to http://cnx.org and search for Flip it.
Strengths
Full and complete set of research strategies. Very well organized and systematic.
Recommendations for use
This site along with its many links can be used in all aspects of SLOs 1-4. Because the resource is very extensive, an instructor will need to decide what part of FOCUS to work on in a given activity or class period. Different aspects of FOCUS Flip It will help students at different stages in a research project or paper.
