Two short quizzes to measure how quickly you can think and talk. Strong resource for a beginning class. This could also be used to help students contextualize verbal fluency (and knowledge of their topic) in speech delivery and effective listening skills.

Strengths

The information is very introductory in nature, but serves as a good precursor to addressing presentation skills.  Deals primarily with vocabulary.

Concerns

Can at first seem quite rudimentary, but can easily be customized.

Recommendations for use

The information can be easily tweaked to fit one’s course needs along with getting students acclimated to the course vocabulary. This could also be paired with a listening exercise, where students pair up and one tests their ability to be verbally fluent and another tests their listening and memory.
