Open online course on argument diagramming with slides and instructions. Slides 1-10 provide the instruction on how to diagram arguments, slides 11-17 deal with specific instruction on types of arguments, including argument structure, premises and conclusions, multiple statements within sentences, linked, convergent, chain, and complex arguments. Includes an iLogos application which enables you to create diagrams.
Strengths
The section on evaluating arguments and the technology to allow students to map arguments into their component parts is a helpful way to really go deeper with lots of great information. Easy to scroll through the material and well-written.
Concerns
The material may be too detailed and narrow for some purposes.
Recommendations
The faculty member could use individual pages (slides) for specific activities or assignments. The unit on evaluating arguments could be very directly useful for SLO 2.
