The following table provides a look at some first courses in the major which can be considered. Other courses can also be considered to help a student explore a potential major of interest or if a student has already earned credit for the first course through previous coursework. Although this list does provide a starting point for students, it is important to discuss a student’s previous experiences and background to determine an appropriate starting point in a major. It is possible a student has already earned credit for an introductory course and/or transferred the equivalent to Simpson from another institution.
If questions are raised about a particular major, the advisor and student are encouraged to contact the department chair of that major to verify appropriate course selections and availability.
